- South Pole Weekly Report: Week ending January 31: Drilling & Installation activities concluded for the season on Saturday, Jan. 30 with the shutdown and winterization of all Seasonal Equipment Station and Tower Operations Site equipment. On-ice activities have clearly shifted to commissioning, verification and data handling.

- South Pole Weekly Report: Week ending January 24: Drilling and installation for the 2009-10 season concluded 10 days ahead of schedule on Jan. 20 with the completion of the 20th string (#51). This successful season reflects the dedicated, experienced and professional team that makes up IceCube.

- South Pole Weekly Report: Week ending January 17: Once again, the drill and deployment teams safely and successfully drilled and installed three strings in less than a week. Strings 43 (drilling order #16), 32 (#17) and 42 (#18). Compared to the original schedule we are now eight days ahead, with the drilling of hole 41 (19th of the season) underway.
- Antarctic ice helps scientists study outer space: While fishermen throwing a line into the frozen Mississippi River might hope to catch walleye or blue gill, scientists drilling deep holes in Antarctica ice hope to catch neutrinos. The subatomic particles from space are used by astronomers to study stars, black holes and dark matter.

- South Pole Weekly Report: Week ending December 10: The last week was yet another excellent week as we drilled and deployed into three holes. Strings 15, 23, and 33 were all safely and successfully installed. We are currently seven days ahead of the original deployment schedule. The tentative plan for the remaining five holes is to deploy strings 43, 32, and 42 in the coming week, and stings 41 and 51 the week after.

- South Pole Weekly Report: Week ending January 03: The last week was excellent as we drilled and deployed into 3 holes in record time. Strings 35 (drilling order #10), 34 (#11) and 24 (#12) were all successfully installed. As compared to the original deployment schedule, we are about 7 days ahead of schedule. The end of the drilling season is now in sight!

- South Pole Weekly Report: Week ending December 27: The last week was a short one as we celebrated Christmas here at the Pole by taking two days off, Dec 25 and 26. Strings 81 (drilling order #8) and 86 (#9) were successfully installed, finishing the Deep Core deployments this season. We will now swing back to string 35 (#10) for the first hole of this new week. Looking at the original deployment schedule, we are about 5 days ahead of schedule.
